But there food is fantastic
Their Facebook page says they will open at 3:30
They currently have blue crab claws.
The food here was awesome. The service was fast and friendly. We got the fried oysters, shrimp, and grouper and not a single one disappointed. The sides and hush puppies were also extremely yummy. The coconut pie was absolutely delicious and a good portion for the price. I will definitely be back and will recommend anyone in the area to drop by!
The grilled lump cream was good. The grits were made with American cheese which I didn't care for.
Wow extremely tasty affordable and worth the trip if you are heading through this area or even up on I-10 drop down and have lunch.
When I first taste Posey's when they catered the end of the year lunch for Cairo High School teachers. I have travel to the location several time since!! GREAT FOOD!! Great taste!!!
We had a Christmas party and we were in a closed in room off to the side way in the back. Aside from the ambiance lacking a bit, the staff made our experience most positive. The server did a fantastic job with such a large quantity of people. The cook churned out food just as requested. Prices were not inexpensive but not outrageous either. The food quality is #1 and delicious.
Ist time visit, shrimp sandwich and french fries very good!French silk pie very good also! The four came because the service was Iffy???I would go back!
Awesome place.
Fresh oysters! I also like groupers! Recommend this restaurant
Awesome place to eat! Food is always hot, fresh, delicious and the staff super friendly! Great portions. We go here every chance we get. Love this place!
Friday night is prime rib night. Exceptional prime rib and fish dip tonite.
Went with a group from Tallahassee Senior Center. Nice place, casual and friendly -- don't know what the prices are like, since we had a limited menu at a group rate. BUT, the food was delicious, good portions, served hot, and cooked nicely, very familiarly to this Fla. Cracker's growing-up experience. I had catfish (fried, of course!), hushpuppies, 'n cheese grits. Would definitely go again -- we all had a blast! Oh yeah, sweet tea with refills -- yum!
It was really great food the Cole slaw was amazing its a great place to eat and chat with family and the people there are sweet as can be
Great fresh Seafood, prepared blackened, grilled or fried. Very casual neighborhood atmosphere. Friendly Service.
By far some of the best sea food in the area. Will definitely go back. They also serve prim rib steaks and chicken. The staff was very friendly and the owner came out and asked if we liked our meals.
No frills place to get good local seafood.
Love Posey’s! First ate here in the Summer of 1992 on a cross country trip from California to Florida. Even after all those years, Posey’s is one of a kind and highly recommended. Live long and prosper, Posey!
Great laid back local atmoshere with always good food.
Fresh Flounder Fridays for lunch is the best meal of the week! Get your flounder fired, grilled or broiled with cheese grits, hushpuppies, coleslaw and a glass of tea - for $11.00! Nobody fries fresh seafood like the Posey's!!
Just called there and tried to place an order to go and they placed me on hold. After over 7 minutes of hold I finally hung up. I tried to call back in a few minutes and the line was busy, so I guess I would still be on hold. I've always loved this place, but this is unacceptable!
Had the shrimp and catfish. Food was great. Loved everything. Hush puppies were the best I have ever had.
Delicious! Seafood was very fresh and served piping hot.
My husband and I went there for dinner while we were in Panacea. The food was very good, and Georgia was great as always!!!!
Best stuffed flounder! Nothing fancy but we love this place. Have been going there for years.
Affordable and locals eat here. Weekday lunch specials. Noah Posey has been in the restaurant business a long time and food customer service.
The waitress was so nice. There weren't many Blacks so it felt intimidating. It was my grandmother birthday so we sat in the back room where there was more seating since we had a large group. The food was so good. The house salad dressing is a must try.
Excellent food! The best hushpuppies I've ever had.
Food Is reasonable and delicious as well as lunch specials. Excellent tea, shrimp and grouper. Staff is very knowledgeable and kind.
Great tasting, fresh food, that doesn't have to be fried to be good, but still has the always great fried way as well. Might think the prices are a little steep, but you definitely get what you pay for, and it's good. Go eat there, you'll be rewarded with a satisfying meal.
Great place to eat. The oysters were small. We were there in September
Greeted right away and asked our drinks, took about 15 minutes before we were asked our order. It took about 30 minutes to get our food and my sandwich came with everything instead of just lettuce, but the portions were great and the food tasted really good! The bathroom could use some work. Staff was friendly
While traveling along the panhandle, we happened upon Posey's. What a wonderful find. The best fried clams ever.
Definitely one of our go to places for the #1 freshest seafood and best coleslaw anywhere. Had the combo platter with grilled shrimp and crab claws! My fave meal from here yet! Will get it again and again. Always love seeing a couple of the owners and family member too! A real gem in North Florida.
Great food with down home atmosphere. Love their lunch specials and their service to cook your catch. Try the steaks great flavor. Come as you are not a dressy place they know the working people because they are one of them. Great family and friends always catching up with each other and no one is a stranger, everyone feels like family.
Posey's was a little off putting at first just by the looks of the place but dont let this scare you away from trying it out. The food was delicious and the wait staff super friendly and helpful. I was in the area helping some people repair their home after a hurricane damaged their home. If you find yourself in this small town in Florida, this place is a must try. I had the most tender and delicious grouper sandwich and cheese grits for my meal. I recommend the sandwich highly.
The food was great. The customer service was not. When there are five people at the counter, two cooks in the kitchen, four tables with people at them (one of which the customers had already received their food), there is no reason why it takes 40 minutes to get some of the food delivered to our table. Yes our drinks were comp’d but when you ask for a to go box and your waitress never brings one back instead she’s delivering food, that’s unacceptable. While leaving the establishment, we did say thank you for not bringing us the take out box. The restaurant’s response? To come out to the parking lot and ensue in a verbal altercation? That’s a classy look for the restaurant. When told not to come back? My reply is don’t worry, we won’t. Your customer service is awful. Your food is too pricey for your workers to behave that way.
Place was busy when we walked in. Servers had their masks on. Customers were spaced apart to maintain social distancing. We wondered where we would sit, and then we walked all the way into the back room to 9 empty tables. We sat at the round one. Georgia was our waitress. She was friendly and efficient. Brought our drinks right away. Husband ordered the fried shrimp dinner with corn on the cob and French fries. Georgia said the Grouper came from Appalachicola, so I ordered the grilled grouper sandwich with all the fixings and cheese grits. We didn’t wait a long time for our meals. Seemed just right. Everything was very good and filling. We’d give it 5 stars, but it felt like we were in someone’s rec room or basement. They were also out of Key Like pie. It was a nice 39th anniversary dinner. Just not as memorable as others.
Small town diner and we loved it! Stopped for lunch on a Tuesday after visiting the Gulf Specimen Aquarium in Panacea. There was your typical Rooster Party (old men gossiping!) who answered my curious grandson's many questions as we waited. We chose the blackened shrimp and a shrimp salad, (very good! Yummy cheese grits!) but there was also a variety on the menu. Fast service, friendly staff. Love supporting local business!
Little pricey. Good waitress. However NO ONE had on a mask.
Simply outstanding. Wonderfully fresh. The raw oysters are magnificent. Every single thing on our plates was delicious. If you love fish, do yourself a favor.
Old school style seafood restaurant. Delicious cheese grits, and fresh fried fish.
Excellent food and service. Ordered blackened, very tasty.
Great food and amazing staff
It was an awesome place to eat beautiful the food is tremendous delicious recommend to entire family
Absolutely delicious. We eat here every time we come to Alligator Point. It's a tradition!
Absolutely loved this place!! Very pleasant environment with very a friendly and down to earth staff, they truly made us feel right at home. On top of all this the food was delicious as well. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Make sure you also save some room for the home-made key lime pie. I'll be back here for sure!
Always wonderful food and great service.
Food was awesome and so we're the ppl cant wait to go back again
So glad my family and I went here. Georgia was our waitress and is as sweet as can be. Our overall consensus is that the shrimp, flounder, and chicken were delicious, but the crab cakes, crab legs, and grits were lacking (hence the four stars). However, we definitely recommend ordering some appetizers. We all enjoyed the fried pickles, squid, and cheese sticks. The prices were decent and the overall atmosphere was laid back. We ate in the back room where it’s more open and didn’t feel like we were so close to another family. Definitely will go back next time we down here!
Driving by..stopped in...typical south seafood place. Staff was more than helpful. The recommendations were spot on. Blackened grouper stuffed w/crabmeat,, hush puppies, Cole slaw & cheesy grits. ..blackened grouper w/bay scallops, hush puppies, Cole slaw & cheesy grits. AMAZING. We are from up North, in talking, she put in a piece of Mullet for us to try (no charge), since we hear about it everywhere down here. Locals came in & were extremely friendly. We will be stopping back. Hidden gem ◇
This place is a great hidden gem! Upon arrival I was slightly suspicious, but the food was absolutely phenomenal. Would definitely recommend trying. Best seafood I had while on vacation.
